As we arrived in Labadee, the excitement of returning to this picturesque paradise was palpable. With warm tropical breezes and stunning ocean views, it felt great to be back. From the dock, we set out to explore everything this destination has to offer, starting with the nature trails and the many paths leading to adventure and relaxation.

Labadee is a sprawling resort-like destination, but getting around is easy thanks to the trams that run throughout the area. These open-air vehicles provide convenient transportation between different beaches, attractions, and dining areas, making it easy to explore without too much walking in the heat.
Best Beaches in Labadee
Labadee is home to multiple beaches, each offering a unique experience. Whether you’re looking for a serene retreat, a family-friendly atmosphere, or adventure-filled watersports, there’s a beach for you.
Barefoot Beach (For Suite Guests Only)
If you’re staying in a suite on your Royal Caribbean cruise, you’ll have exclusive access to Barefoot Beach. Unlike some of the other beaches, Nellie’s Beach doesn’t have large waves, making it an ideal spot for swimming and floating peacefully in the water. Columbus Cove is one of the larger beaches in Labadee and is perfect for families. It features a variety of fun activities, including a water slide (available for a small upcharge), floating mats, and kayak rentals. Unlike CocoCay (Royal Caribbean’s other private destination), Labadee offers a more authentic local shopping experience. The Artisan Market is filled with handmade crafts, artwork, and souvenirs created by local Haitian artists. We’ve purchased beautiful paintings here in the past, and it’s a great way to support the local community while taking home a unique piece of art.
Bargaining is expected in the marketplace, so don’t be afraid to negotiate prices. The local vendors are friendly and passionate about their work, making it a fun and engaging shopping experience.
Hidden Gems & Nature Trails
For those who love exploring, Labadee has several nature trails that offer scenic walks through lush tropical landscapes. These trails lead to stunning viewpoints where you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and mountains.
One hidden gem we discovered is a small bar located up a set of stairs in a secluded area. It’s easy to miss, but it offers a peaceful spot to enjoy a drink while taking in the incredible scenery.
Another hidden gem is the Instagram-worthy lookout point near the dock. Many guests don’t even realize it’s there, but it provides an amazing vantage point for capturing the beauty of Labadee.
