🌅 Starting at the Top: Deck 13

We always like to start at the top of the ship and work our way down, and on Jewel of the Seas, that means heading straight to Deck 13.

Right off the elevators, you’ll find the Crown Lounge. This is for Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle guests—and for a ship this size, it’s actually a really nice space. It’s not huge, but honestly, it doesn’t need to be. The real highlight here is the view out the front of the ship. It’s one of those places where you can grab a coffee in the morning and just sit and take it all in.

From there, we head into one of our favorite hidden spots onboard—the Vortex.

During the day, it’s quiet. Really quiet. It’s the kind of place where you can read, play cards, or just relax without a crowd. But at night, it becomes much more lively. The bar opens up, and it turns into a great spot for a pre-dinner drink—still a little tucked away, which we love.

⛳ A Quick Walk Outside

Just outside, you’ll find the sports deck—and this is where you start to realize something about this ship.

Everything feels open.

There’s mini golf (with ocean views at every hole), a sports court where you’ll often see pickleball or basketball games going on, and even the rock climbing wall.

Even if you’re not planning to use any of it, it’s worth walking through just for the views alone.

☀️ Deck 12: Where You’ll Probably Spend a Lot of Time

Deck 12 is really the heart of the outdoor experience.

Yes, you’ve got your main pool deck—but what really stood out to us were all the extra tucked-away spaces.

We even started calling them things like “Deck 12 extra” and the “Deck 12 hideaway,” because they feel like little secret spots where you can escape the crowds but still enjoy the sun.

If the main pool area feels busy, you don’t have to go far to find a quieter place—and that’s something this ship does really well.

You’ll also find the walking and jogging track up here, which is a great way to get your steps in while still enjoying the ocean views.

🧘 Deck 11: Relaxation Mode

When you move down to Deck 11, things slow down a bit.

You’ve got the Vitality Spa, which is actually larger than we expected for a ship this size, along with the adults-only solarium. The solarium has a covered roof, a pool, hot tubs, and a bar—making it a great place to relax if you’re looking for something quieter than the main pool deck.

And then there’s the Windjammer.

We have to say—this might be one of our favorite Windjammers across the fleet.

Instead of long buffet lines, it’s broken up into smaller stations, which makes it feel less crowded and easier to move around—even during busy times. There’s also plenty of seating, including outdoor seating, which we always appreciate.

🎭 Deck 6: Entertainment, Dining & Nightlife

Deck 6 is where things really start to come alive.

This is where you’ll find the casino, Schooner Bar (which is great for piano music and trivia), and specialty restaurants like Giovanni’s Table and Chops Grille.

But one area you really shouldn’t miss is the Safari Club.

It’s one of the most unique spaces on the ship, with multiple rooms, a library area, pool tables, and even space for events like shows or art auctions. It’s one of those places that just feels different—and we found ourselves coming back here more than once.

🚶 The Promenade (One of the Best Features)

One thing we always look for on a ship is whether you can walk all the way around it—and on Jewel of the Seas, you can.

You can actually walk completely around the outside, and even go all the way forward to the helipad.

That front-facing view is one of the best on the ship—and yes, it’s the perfect place for your Titanic moment.

☕ Deck 5: Coffee, Shopping & Theater Access

Deck 5 has a great mix of things to do.

You’ve got Café Latte-tudes, which is perfect for grabbing a coffee or a quick snack, along with a shopping area that felt well-stocked and a bit more unique than what we’ve seen on some other ships.

👉 This is also where you’ll find the main floor of the theater, so if you’re heading to a show and want to be close to the action, this is where you’ll want to go.

And from here, you’re just steps away from the centrum.

🏛️ Deck 4: The Centrum, Guest Services & Main Dining Room

When you head down to Deck 4, this is really where everything comes together.

👉 This is where you’ll find:

• The centrum at its main level
• Guest Services
• The main floor of the main dining room

The centrum stretches up multiple decks, but being down here gives you that full view of everything happening above you.

If there’s an event in the evening, this area fills up quickly—so getting there a little early is definitely worth it.

The main dining room down here also really stands out. It has that classic, elegant cruise feel, with the grand staircase and open design that makes it feel a little more special.

⚖️ Final Thoughts: Is Jewel of the Seas Worth It?

So… is it worth it?

If you’re looking for:

• Big attractions
• Water slides
• Mega-ship energy

This might not be your ship.

But if you’re looking for:

• Incredible ocean views
• Quiet hidden spaces
• A more relaxed, classic cruise experience
